David Townsend is the Director of Member Programs at The Fertilizer Institute where he manages a sustainability program portfolio, including the 4R Advocate Program, 4R Field Days, and 4R Acre. In addition, he collaborates with the team on other member programs, sustainability projects, and education and training initiatives. Townsend comes to TFI from the American Farm Bureau Federation where for nearly 5 years he managed youth and collegiate member programs as a part of the Young Farmers & Ranchers program.
He and his wife, Maddie live in Washington, D.C. and are “Double Dels,” having both graduated from the University of Delaware before getting married in 2020.
