To strengthen these connections, TFI prioritizes opportunities to engage directly with policymakers, advocating for the critical contributions the fertilizer industry makes locally and nationally. These efforts include supporting policy updates regarding reference pricing and crop insurance to provide a critical safety net for farmers. They also include hosting congressional site visits to highlight the industry’s role as an economic driver and organizing ResponsibleAg tours to demonstrate its commitment to safety, training, and certification. Similarly, the industry advocates for 4R (right time, place, source, and kind of fertilizer applications) nutrient management policies and practical application of environmental regulatory standards.
