Membership

The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) invites you to join with other industry leaders in promoting a sound industry and take advantage of the many benefits membership offers. Any company that has an interest in the fertilizer industry — including but not limited to manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers and state fertilizer associations — is eligible for membership in TFI.

Washington Representation

TFI is still your source for strong representation in Washington, D.C. Our work on Capitol Hill and with regulators is the cornerstone of our efforts to preserve and promote the U.S. fertilizer industry. From environmental issues to international trade, TFI gets results on Capitol Hill.

The Institute also represents its members before the administration and federal agencies including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and the Surface Transportation Board (STB).

Programs

From statistical programs to help in benchmarking and planning your business strategy to public relations programs to promote fertilizers or assisting with a crisis communication plan, TFI members know they can tap into TFI's professional staff for assistance.

Representatives of TFI member companies are welcome to participate in the policy-making process as a member of the Institute's many issues councils and task forces.

Discounts on TFI Meeting Registrations and Publications

TFI members receive reduced rates on statistical package subscriptions and reduced registration fees for all TFI meetings.

Membership Classifications

TFI's membership is categorized as regular, associate and state.

Regular Members are limited to companies who are producers, manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers or importers of any fertilizers, fertilizer materials, industrial materials or feedgrade phosphates, containing nitrogen, phosphate and/or potash, sulfur, secondary nutrients or micronutrients.

Associate Members include foreign companies, otherwise eligible for regular membership, which do not have sales of fertilizer, fertilizer materials, industrial materials or feedgrade phosphates, within the United States, its territories or possessions. Companies and individuals concerned with providing service to the fertilizer industry including but not limited to transportation providers, lending institutions, equipment dealers and engineering companies shall also be eligible for associate membership. No company eligible for regular membership or affiliated with a company eligible for such membership, shall be classified as an associate member.

State Members include all state and regional fertilizer associations. No company eligible for regular membership, or affiliated with a company eligible for such membership, shall be admitted to state membership.
